Behemoth - Conjuration

(Regain Records) Total Time: 29:46

After two very good albums (“Thelema 6” and ”Zoc Kia Cultus”) and with “Thelema 6” shadowing their previous works, BEHEMOTH leave Avantgarde Records and start the third phase of their career in the black-death meta scene. This new mini-CD from Regain Records “stinks”! The band’s aim to approach a more American-oriented sound were evident in “Zoc Kia Cultus”. So in this mini-CD it looks like Nergal made a blood transfer from a Florida citizen. The one and only new BEHEMOTH composition (“Conjuration Ov Sleep Daemons”) is accompanied by 2 covers (VENOM, NINE INCH NAILS) and 4 live versions of songs appearing in “Thelema 6” and “Satanica”, but with very bad sound quality. The new song is quite weak (even if all the members have contributed in the writing field). The final result is boring and uninspired and above all without their personal style present. Especially these guitar sounds (used also in “Thelema 6”) become irritating. Also the goat on the cover has been used so many times that it becomes boring. This release is for sure only for the hardcore fans of the band and a good opportunity for Regain to see what BEHEMOTH can do as a band in terms of sales and how further they can invest on the name of BEHEMOTH.
