Pat Travers - Putting It Straight

(Majestic rock) Total Time: 37:03

‘Putting It Straight’ – Pat Travers’ second album release in 1977 – is a bit of a different animal, although a lot of the high voltage rock n roll is intact, there’s a slight change in the overall sound. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact the Pat got settled in London. The sound is a bit more organic I ‘d say, you get saxophones and stuff. ‘Mars’ Cowling and Nicko Mcbrain still in tow, and the man just keeps on gigging hard. Guests on the album include Thin Lizzy’s Scott Gorham on ‘Speakeasy’ and Rainbow’s Tony Carey on the instrumental ‘Off Beat Ride’. ‘Speakeasy’ and ‘Life In London’ are affectionate odes to his new home. A mighty fine release. Remastered especially for this CD release and containing original art work and new sleeve notes.
