ORATORIO is a Finnish (I think) band that loves melodic power metal. Listening to the album you can fine easily the influences from bands like IRON MAIDEN, JUDASPRIEST, HELLOWEEN, STRATOVARIUS. They remind me of a lighter TAD MOROSE, with great guitar work, melodic power metal vocals. They create atmospheric surrounds with the work of their two guitar players, instead of using keyboards as a main instrument and these gave their sound a certain distinction. Ten songs full of melody and excellent guitar work, deserving your attention and respect (Listen to Jaivaallinen Jerusalem to understand their potential, a song that reminds me of the epic days of MAGNUM). They are not something new, but they have interesting sing along compositions and very nice melodies. I believe here we are in front of the beginning of along successful story for a new band, which will claim the melodic/power metal crown. Get this album soon, so tomorrow you could say I heard them first.
