Usually when I get a demo in my hands the first thing I notice is the artwork. And most of the times the artwork is shit! This time I was surprised by the quality of this one and I was more than pleased by the lack of sloppiness that characterize almost all the self released albums. My satisfaction got ever bigger after the hearing of this cd, since the inside was perfectly matched with the outside, meaning: a very good artwork combined with very good music, hallo!!!?
LAHMIA was formed in 2001 and “Forever Every Sunrise” is their second demo. They started as a thrash/goth band but, thank the gods, they ended up playing melodic death metal, which by the way I think fits them the most.
Epical monolith riffs, marching rhythms, clean vocals that reminded me of Anathema (first period) and brutal vocals that reminded me of a band that I keep as a secret for the epilogue. Variety on the rhythmic section, nice rotation between melancholy and bloody battlefields with professional arrangements and inspired compositions.
It is a pity for a band like LAHMIA to be unsigned, when at the same time worthless motherfuckers who think that they are playing metal have contracts with big labels.
Anyway, this demo contains five tracks and the recordings took place at the Temple Of Noise studios.
The Italians bastard sons of Amon Amarth did well on this one and I’m looking forward to hear their first full length (NOT self released this time!!)
