Here we have a Greek band that is into melodic death metal a la Amorphis, Paradise Lost, Saturnus and My Dying Bride. This promo includes three tracks taken from their debut album which is about to be released with the title “Depressive Icons”.
Old school staff, early 90s, when Amorphis stroke the world with “Tales from the Thousand Lakes”. This is pretty much what DAYLIGHT MISERY is all about.
The full length album includes guest appearances of musicians like Jacob Batten (Illdisposed) and many more who will remain a secret at least for now…
Responsible for the keyboards is Q_Snc (Unholy Ritual, Kawir, Savaoth, Obscecration), for the bass is Stergios Kanaropoulos (Mortal Torment, The Almighty Fishermen, Lytrosis) and the rest of the band is completed by Stamos Kordas (guitars) and Vassilis “Illdisposer” Mazaris (vocals) with the co-operation of Efthimis Karadimas from Nightfall.
A lot of work must be done by DAYLIGHT MISERY in order to overcome their musical influences and modulate their own personal style, until then a modern version of the old Amorphis is always welcome…
