NEW DEVICE are an English hard rock band from London, UK. Influenced by the stadium rockgiants of the late 80s and early 90s such as GUNS N ROSES, AEOSMITH they manage to achieve a sound where so many others fail. They were formed in London, England, in October 2007.The band almost immediately entered the studio on October 2007 to record four tracks with Romesh Dodangoda (FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE) at Long Wave Studio, Cardiff. Over the course of a week they produced “ On Fire”, “Never Say Never”, “Heaven Knows” and “Takin Over.” These recordings quickly gained interest and they were swiftly signed to Powerage Records. They began the recording of their debut album in June 2008, at Outhouse Studios, Reading, UK, with long term friend Ryan Richards of FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND behind the drum kit. Mixing duties were handled stateside in Los Angeles by Cameron Webb (Motorhead, Tenacious D, Godsmack).
Well after HEAVENS BASEMENT, THE ANSWER, ROADSTAR, WILDHEARTS and of course MILLION $RELOAD here is another contender for the crown. This time the guys seem to lie on a steady diet, of DANGER DANGER, GUNS N ROSES and SKID ROW. Especially the guitar player sounds like Slash in the higher possible degree, an ear could differentiate a sound .At the main question, can they make it? The answer is YES, with songs like the ball breaker, opening “Make my day’ and the mid tempo ,80s power rock ballad ‘Moth to the flame” the guys have it. Also you can listen who stadium rock has evolved from bands like THE LOST PROPHETS,FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND and BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE at modern hard rock anthems like “Heaven knows” They have the looks and the music. Imagine SKID ROW and MOTLEY CRUE jamming over the first SKID ROW album with a singer who is half blood brother of Ted Poley. Yes they’ re so good and even better, so instead of laughing with “Chinese Democracy’ and waiting for the long lost third VELVET REVOLVER album, you have here a band of young, not obsolete rockers who are eager to let loose their rock n roll cannons. Don’t know what happened and after Sweden, UK tries to regain or relive past glories and rock n roll triumphs. This album is a sonic dynamite and an absolutely buy or die choice for sleaze, hard rockers all around the globe.
