Graveyard - One With The Dead

(BlackSeed Productions) Total Time 47:46

From the gorgeous Barcelona of Spain, GRAVEYARD reincarnated from bones and dust and from 2007 this four piece band started to spread its chaos and devastation upon many festivals..This band has not gained a lot of attention yet, but their new album completely changed their uniqueness and fame as a name. After some demos & splits and many many gigs, GRAVEYARD released last year their first step into the Death Metal history entitled “One with the Dead”!
From the very first hearing of this magnificent album, I realized one thing at once..The guys have a real talent when they focus their powers! The sound that comes out from this release, will surely remind you some of the most old-school bands from Sweden, but with their own unique style! Each country in the world has its own bands and sound, but these guys will surely remind you older releases like “Into The Grave”, “Like and Ever Flowing Stream”, “Clandestine”, “Where No Life Dwells” etc. of the Swedish Death Metal era.. The first introductive track, puts you in the middle of a horror film and after some seconds, the massacre begins…Vocals that sound like a possessed beast piercing your ears each time a growl comes out and lyrics full of violence and bloodbath..The guitar and bass parts have a spectacular sound that reminds you recordings of the early 90’s, just like the old times most of us were using tapes and vinyls…The drum part is very great, featuring a fast but rock solid style with a lot of technique and progressiveness than a boring blast beat..All 12 tracks are unique and beside that the general atmosphere of the concept differs a lot in the matter of composing ideas. There’s also a cover track on a Candlemass song in the end that is pretty amazing how these guys converted it into their own style!!!Also, Dan Swano has put his magic hands into the mixing of this album and the sound is professional like with no glitches or any misbalances..
All in all, this release surprised me as you don’t hear so many diamonds from time to time..There are many bands that try to “steal” Sweden’s death metal style nowadays but GRAVEYARD have proved themselves and the audience also, that they have a lot of talent and inspiration to create something completely new from an old-school sound that has completely vanished since the last decade!
