Ghost Brigade - Isolation Songs

(Season Of Mist) Total Time 56:44

After the disintegration of the Christmas holidays, my appetite for dark melodies, introvert clean guitar riffs and penetrating growling vocals was filled by the hearing of the second full length album of the finish melodic/progressive deathsters GHOST BRIGADE, entitled “Isolation Songs”. And the feeling of my longing isolation did come to me successfully enough to overcome the fact that this is probably not the most original work that comes to one’s attention, considering the strong influences by bands like Amorphis, Katatonia, even Paradise Lost .
Emotional enough, raw and martinet, the atmosphere of this nevertheless seminal work, lights the way to the listener’s inner self through its wonderful production, the efficient writing skills and musicality of the synthesis. The mid tempo rhythm and the numerous acoustic parts during the whole hearing of the album, as well as the rotation from clean to growling vocal style, give a touch of sludge on their other than that progressive sound basis.
Songs like the instrumental “22.22 Nihil” bring the best out of them and so does the bonus track “Liar” with its magnificent riffology!
I guess this “brigade” is still haunted by ghosts of the “christmas”past, but I ‘m sure that once it gets rid of them its parade will be long remembered …
