ARMAGEDDON - The solo project of guitar guru Christopher Amott (ARCH ENEMY), has just released an album of such diverse caliber, that will truly be embraced by every fan of Power Metal - Oh, I'm sorry, yes, they do play Power Metal! How is this possible? Well, maybe the fact that Christopher is indeed a man with a lot of influences and a great deal of ideas. Furthermore, he likes to experiment with sound in general, as is the case on this album as well. After all, I think there is a reason that he chose "Embrace the Mystery" as a title - the album oozes mystery, odd turns, hundreds of twists and a handful of surprises. The listener, just never gets bored throughtout the 35+ minutes of this album.
There really isn't much to say about it, but I'll put it quite simple: This is without a doubt one of the best Power metal albums in history - period! The riffs, the melodies, the twists, the turns, the surprises, the fluctuations, the mood, the sentiments, the lyrics, the vocals, the bass, the drums, the majesty and epicness of this album is unparalleled. You are in for a very, but very big surprise!
Concluding, I must say that very few albums are really worthy of the highest score in Metal Invader, but thank God I found one...
