Ancient Dome - Human Key

(Punishment 18 Records) Total Time: 43:56

I think that the way things go, Punishment 18 Records will release a warrant for my arrest since all the reviews I’ve done till now were not the best for them... The fact is that this label has a “thing” for the old school thrash metal kind and most of Punishment’s bands serve this great vision of regeneration. I, on the other hand, am totally against this idea and maybe I am not the right person for a compliment when it comes for bands like this one.
Anyway, I proceed by saying that I won’t break the tradition of low rating no matter how bad I feel about that (well, maybe not so bad…).
ANCIENT DOME were formed in 2000 and “Human Key” is their debut album. These Italians draft their influences mostly from the bay area thrash metal scene and the result is proportional: An anachronistic album that concerns only the fans or the romantic ones, with an artwork that is far beyond its time (considering the fact that this album could have been released easily around 1990). The old same recipe that requires a filthy production goes for this band too, many overused riffs and uninspired compositions complete this album and I think that it is better for me to stop now…
The following lyrics are from the first song of this album called “Ancient Dome”:

"Look deep in my eyes, there is a fire
Metal lives again so bang your head tonight
Look deep in my eyes there is a fire
Reach the eternal youth on stage, that’s right…"
