Though I am not a fanatic of black metal in general, I think that bands like ORAKLE are only willing to help people like me come closer to the genre. They are not playing old school black metal. They are from Paris and are experimenting as much as acceptable in order not to be accused of not being a black metal band. They are in the same path OPETH walk in, being melodic and powerful at the same time, progressive but not boring or difficult to listen to. They have weird vocals in many parts of their songs, not bad but weird, they have nice keyboard lines and acoustic guitars. The whole atmosphere is of a battlefield right after the war, just like PRIMORDIAL do. It’s epic, it’s pompous and full of dark feeling and despair. They have composed nothing but interesting -from the beginning to the end –songs that even DIMMU BORGIR fans will like... the funny thing is that I was -for the very first time- about to read and comment the lyrics of the cd but it turned out all lyrics are in French... shit happens!!! No need to worry though, growling won’t let you notice a thing...
