To tell you the truth, I was somehow prepared that there will be a change in the musical background of the band, their previous album was a must for some of my winter nights and I can say that I have studied very carefully their musical approaching. You see, their music in general was a journey into minimal sound paths despite the fact that they were using their very own esoteric Black Metal forms to explore their strange directions.
So, for those who have listened carefully their “Durch Den Traum” and even their “Hexenwind” albums, the fact that now the band dives totally in ambient, acoustic folk musical seas will not be a surprise at all. The guitar and violin are the two main spells of this little musical ceremony and beautiful acoustic themes in dark colors are the main features of this album. Yes, just like before when the music carried a sweet sadness as well, but this time the amplifiers have been turned off, the percussion set has been put aside and what is left is just a strange apocalyptic wind blowing around the songs carrying the acoustic melodies deep into our souls.
Ten songs are enough for another journey into gloom… a journey that becomes really attractive under the acoustic spell of DORNEREICH.
