DIGNITY was founded in 2006 in Vienna, Austria by drummer Roland Navratil (Edenbridge) and keyboardist Frank Pitters. After a while, Martin Mayr and John Boy Bastard completed the DIGNITY line up. In April 2007 and after the songs for the album “Project Destiny” were selected, the band started to search a suitable vocalist and finally Swedish singer Jake E was the one chosen. Their first work, which was recorded in Vienna, mixed and mastered in Sweden, was finally ready.
Napalm describes DIGNITY as a melodic hard rock band. Don’t let this label mislead you, because “Project Destiny” brings together heavy metal and hard rock in a very successful way. The hard rock roots are obvious when someone listens to the guitar riffs and notices the melodic lines, but on the other hand, this album many times sounds metal and feels metal.
With a crystal clear modern sound and production, DIGNITY manages to present a fresh and dynamic result that keeps the interest high at all times. Hard rock guitar riffs, songs full of melody, catchy refrains and a brilliant vocalist, whose performance sometimes reaches power metal levels, these are the elements that make this record a special one… If only the compositions were a bit more original… Maybe next time…
