Czech is not a famous metal country and it was a surprise for me that CALES are coming from there.
CALES is a project of the ex-frontman of one of the most famous Czech black metal bands called ROOT. Through this project, CALES seem that experiment a lot and “unfold” all their music concerns through an absolutely instrumental album.
The “Savage Blood” lasts almost 40 minutes and includes 12 songs that walk on Pagan paths with lots of rock/AOR elements. The drum section in here is really simple while the entire album moves around mid tempos. It’s a fact that many songs are not even metal...
CALES is an album that can relax you and guide you to the most calmly places. I don’t know if that’s what you’re searching for but it’s a quite good job although I think that it is a little bit tedious an absolutely instrumental album.
