All Shall Perish - Awaken The Dreamers

(Nuclear Blast) Total Time: 35:00

The deathcore band from Oakland has returned with a new album. “Awaken The Dreamers” caught my attention quickly, mostly because of the new elements these guys decided to put into their music.
Instead of just making another metalcore album with speeding riffs and ravaging vocals, ALL SHALL PERISH has chosen to give their music an extra boost. So alongside with the basic deathcore parts, which are still the core of their music, the band has added elements from classic heavy, like fast guitar solos and high pitched vocals, a few slow, I would dare to say atmospheric, elements with clean vocals (a part in “Memories Of A Glass Sanctuary” will surely remind you of Opeth) and also some more pure death metal stuff with a lot of blast beating. As I said, the core and the groove are still here. You don’t have to be afraid of listening to something completely experimental that will disappoint you. But expect to listen to something different.
The album was produced at Castle Ultimate Studios and it was mixed by Zach Ohren, also responsible for mixing albums of First Blood and Odious Mortem. The result is a diamond clear, heavy as hell sound that becomes a huge advantage of this release.
“Awaken The Dreamers” was a very happy surprise for my ears. I really enjoyed listening to this album and I’m sure that will satisfy the most of you.
