STEEL PROPHET needs no introductions to every self-respecting Metal fan. A band that has been struggling in the underground for many years, released many demos (and still there is a confusion as to the exact number of demo releases / tracks they had as the band didn’t reveal many about its past).
This particular release includes the 1986 demo, “Steel Prophet”, their participation in the “Iron Tyrants volume 2” compilation LP from 1986 released on World Metal Records (or Iron Works / Azra, whatever suits you), plus the “Visions of Force” demo from 1988. The sound is that of demo quality (and at times even lower!) but I guess that those that will buy this LP will not buy it for the crystal clear production. Those that only know the band’s CD releases will be quite shocked to listen to how STEEL PROPHET was back in the days. Pure Power / Progressive Metal of the finest kind, that left classic releases for the US Metal underground like the “Visions of Force” and “Inner Ascendance” demos.
The LP is limited to 330 copies and the CD to 1000, and given the interest for both old and new STEEL PROPHET fans, I guess that the safest thing to do if you want to make sure you will obtain one, is contact the label or your local distributor.
