Welcome to Metal Invader

Full Blown Chaos - Heavy Lies The Crown

(Ferret Records) Total Time: 46:13

FULL BLOWN CHAOS is a metalcore band from NY US. According to the band, their whole direction "is to keep a wide range of music, not to necessarily pigeonhole ourselves into metal or hardcore. In 2001 Full Blown Chaos self-released their first EP, with the lineup of Joe White (vocals), Mike Facci (guitar), Ed Conroy (bass), and Jeff Facci (drums), on Conroy's Jailhouse Records label. By the time they released their second EP, "Prophet Of Hostility", on Hatebreed’s frontman Jamey Jasta's Stillborn Records label, White was replaced by new vocalist Ray Mazzola who stays till nowadays. After two following full-length albums “Wake The Demons”(2004), “Within The Grasp Of Titans” (2006) and gaining experience by touring with such acts as Hatebreed, Sick Of It All, Terror, Madball, Napalm Death, Himsa plus more others they released in August of 2007 the “ Heavy Lies The Crown”.

In “Heavy Lies The Crown” don’t expect to find any different musical direction but the well known (like all metalcore bands) crossroad between metal riffing and hardcore aggression. In my opinion songs like “Halos For Heroes”, “Heavy Lies The Crown” and “Over The End” are the perfect proofs for this killing combination. FULL BLOWN CHAOS is an experienced band and surely knows how to stay in high levels of creation. What comes as a normal result from this attemp is the ideal bond between the drumming, especially during the breakdowns, the heavy riffs, the pissed off vocals and generally speaking the overall production.

Two reasons that made me not to rate the “Heavy Lies The Crown” up to 6/6 is: First, the fact that in few parts they become repetitive and second: I expect more things from such a band as FULL BLOWN CHAOS.

As additional information I’d like to say that the songs called “Mojave pt1” and “Mojave pt2” are inspired by an accident when they were touring for the Ozzfest at the Mojave Desert. Their RV suddenly blew out and headed off a fifteen foot ravine. Thankfully everyone survived without any scratch but they were all shocked.

All in all this is a very pleasant release and is highly recommended to the fans of invigorating metalcore.
