I think that a band like DETONATION doesn’t need any special introductions but, in order to inform the new metalheads of this genre about this nuclear bomb that is called DETONATION, it is worth saying a few words about their musical career.
The band was created under the name "Infernal Dream" in 1997 in the Netherlands (Utrecht) and changed to DETONATION in 1998. They are swimming in the sea of melodic death metal and by featuring on At The Gates’ tribute album “Slaughterous Souls” (performing the song “Under a Serpent Sun”) they prove their loyalty to the N.W.O.S.D.M. scene. Their discography counts two Demos (1998, 2001), one mini cd called “Lost Euphoria” in 2000 and three full-length albums (“An Epic Defiance” in 2003, “Portals To Uphobia” in 2005 and “Emission Phase” in 2007).
Let us cut to the chase now! Eliran Kantor replaced Niklas Sandin and made the artwork for “Emission Phase”, urging the metalhead to expect the unexpected by creating a biblical and insidious atmosphere. DETONATION with this album are making their break through, springing themselves away from “An Epic Defiance” and “Portals To Uphobia” by originating their own sound and style. Twelve hell-made tracks comprised by astonishing guitar arrangements, with inventive and intellectual riffs. With groovy rhythms and technicality characterizing bass and drums, combined with a great production, this album reaches the top of completion! The old influences are fading away and the touch of Dark Tranquility is now impalpable, as DETONATION dive into the depths of their very soul, delivering us the most genuine version of their music.
The band planted the seeds with “An Epic Defiance” and “Portals To Uphobia” and harvest the fruits with “Emission Phase”! Join the dark feast, taste their bearing, by giving them what is rightfully theirs...Recognition!!!
