This cd has 11 songs of short duration, something that makes them easy to digest and not so boring to go through. The music played is rock based, but the attitude and the style is has a post rock and melancholic feeling – like Placebo with more mannish vocals, less electronic elements and thicker sound. The performance of the band and especially the singer is emotional, but I wouldn’t categorize them in the obnoxious emo scene - even though they themselves do so - with a reason: They have real compositions, they sound like a real band and they sometimes rock it well. Stylistically, the band uses all the emo cliches and motos that make me want to puke. Fortunately, their music surpasses them. It is modern rock for sensitive souls and surely there is a huge audience directed in this way. A CRIME CALLED… could seek for wide recognition and some of their song could claim air play. I wouldn’t recommend it to straightforward metalheads, but for fans of more mild, melodic, modern rock/pop situations. More info at: info@alkemist-fahatix.com
