Twinspirits - The Music That Will Heal The World

(Lion Music) Total Time: 70:00

This is the debut of TWINSPIRITS named optimistically “The Music That Will Heal The World”. As most of the Lion releases It is described as progressive metal full of melody .Also as most of the Lion’s releases and this is an advantage for me , the songs are well crafted but most of all there is more than enough virtuoso musicianship to keep even the most demanding progressive metal fanatic satisfied. It all started when Daniele Liveranni (EMPTY TREMOR, GENIUS) met Dario for to the three episodes of Daniele’s Genius Rock Opera. Some years later, Daniele and Dario saw Tommy playing some Vai/Satriani tunes at a instrument trade show and decided to get in touch with this young (he was just 14!) talented guitar player. After a few months, the “core” was complete when the band chose Alberto (progressive bass player of ASCRA, DREAM THEATER cover band). After many auditioned great they found the best matching voice in Søren Adamsen for his incredible versatility and powerful style. The result is TWINSPIRITS. Can this gathering of experienced but not so well known musicians make the difference, in a saturated genre like progressive metal. I am happy to confirm the difference. These guys have made something unbelievable for me. I didn’t fell asleep listening to another prog metal album.
Well for the start I must say they are more metal then progressive and are closer to bands like ARENA, THRESHOLD, SOUL CAGES, SHADOW GALLERY, TRANSATLANTIC and not so much RUSH inspired. Something for me is a good sign. They are melodic, yet heavy balancing the guitars with the heavy keyboards in the vein of Johannsen Brothers or Anderson of ROYAL HUNT fame.
On the other hand their singer is closer to John West passionate voice then the hard rock inspired voice of Jorn Lande with great vocal abilities and this lovely 80s feeling, that a lot of my Greek fellowmen are dying to listen to albums. So we have a progressive NWOBHM band, or something similar to this. Maybe, maybe not.
. They got the FATES WARNING High tones especially at the vocals, yet they have the smoothness of MARILLION, the pomp touch of KANSAS, STYX, SHADOW GALLERY and the technical outbursts of bands like RUSH. Because they are all so well equipped musicians they deliver the songs, easily without been tiring even at the most complex parts. They incorporate jazz, fusion, classical and psychedelic sounds all in one, while the guitarist brings the metal feeling, reminding the golden days of IRON MAIDEN, JUDAS PRIEST. The band delivers their melodic progressive rock in a way reminding the work of bands like TEN. They have the power, but also like to play it big, heavy, arena progressive style. The result is a well structured, of epic proportions, modern progressive metal album, that will please the fans of bands like FATES WARNING, SOUL CAGES, TEN, ASIA all together as it does not afraid to flirt with power and melody, complexity and simplicity equally. A great album from musicians not yet praised enough.
