These type of albums are the most difficult to give a review. Joop Walters is among the best in Lion Music rooster. With albums o his back he has played almost everything. He has the jazz background, he likes to get a little progressive rock from time to time and he has the shredding talent also. But he mostly prefers to be in the Satriani, Vai era, with more music oriented style, leaving the solo for the sections he considered it vital. His influences extend s even to such styles as the Spanish guitar influenced “Harmonic spheres”, giving him an extra feeling and passion. Besides the exhibition of his undutiful technical abilities, he also presents himself as a musician talented, diverse who tries to evolve his playing through various music .In a way he has a lot in common with the early days of Vinnie Moore as he has this light jazz motives, listen to “Kindering spirits” in his rhythm section where he just lave his fingers spread in rock show offs over the fretboard. This new work of Joop Walters ensures that he is among the best new guitar players and he has to get to the next level, if he is interested with a full band with vocals. As an instrumentalist he is among the best, in an era where imitation has become the standard.
