    BLOOD STAIN CHILD come from Osaka, Japan and Idolator is their third album. It is no secret that the Japanese audience has greatly appreciated the New Wave Of Swedish Death Metal genre for quite a long time now and it would be safe to suppose that a lot of Japanese bands have embraced its vein. This quintet is undeniably very skilled in terms of songwriting and performing and each and every one of the tracks inside the Idolator album has its memorable moment.

    The discreet and minimal front cover of the album comes in direct opposition to the music paths and the general feeling of Idolator. BLOOD STAIN CHILD reach a result that is seriously similar to Children Of Bodom albums and maybe even In Flames former endeavors. I’m sure that a European or American audience will find it extremely difficult to keep up with the English/Japanese constant code switching which I personally found very enjoyable. Aki is responsible for some excellent use of electronic sounds (that strongly reminded me of Dark Tranquillity’s Haven album) that along with the extensive use of screams in the Japanese language by Ryo has lead to a psychedelic result that definitely kept my interest.

    Tue Madsen (The Haunted) co-produced this album resulting in a killer sound production that brings out the best of each and every song composition and structure. Ryu and Shiromasa are a very balanced guitar duo but the real (pleasant) surprise were the drum beats by Violator that critically boost the whole outcome. Idolator lasts for an enjoyable 40 minutes yet it is a dreadful fact that BLOOD STAIN CHILD are far from innovative and original. As much as I enjoyed Idolator, I honestly don’t think that the average listener can withstand a Children Of Bodom/In Flames replica so many years after the original releases. This band is extremely promising and should immediately redefine its objectives…
