Stormzone - Caught In The Act

(Escape Music) Total Time: 49.58

Sometimes when you listen to a new band with potential it takes time to make the difference. For STORMZONE the excellent Rodney Matthews designed artwork, was a disadvantage. In a peculiar way it made me having doubts to what I would listen, so I let the review aside for some time. This was a real big mistake. These five guys are coming all the way from Belfast and play the kind of traditional British heavy rock that made bands like TYGERS OF PAN TANG and DEF LEPPARD famous back in the glory days of the 80s. You will find all the best from bands like DEEP PURPLE, WHITESNAKE, MAGNUM, and RAINBOW but with a real rock attitude. The most impressive thing is the mighty John Harv Harbnson A man with a voice so similar to rock giants like David Byron (URIAH HEEP) or the mighty FIREHOUSE vocalist. The other thing you would die for, is the way they combine heavy rock and melody, classic hard rock in the first song, modern FM heroes at the second. Listen to “Stranger things have happened “and cry from delight. This band is a serious contester for the best melodic new act from the wider UK area, for 2007.If only they have decided to have a more appropriate, less epic cover that would give less MANOWAR ish ideas, for their music. From the early MAMAS BOYS days I haven’t heard such a beautiful blend of hard rock and melody. Buy or fuck off and die.
This is a sure winner for 2007.
