Welcome to Metal Invader

Demos : In Gremio Tenebrarum - Demo

(Self Financed Demo) Total Time 18:20

IN GREMIO TENEBRARUM are from Italy and they play melodic theatrical Black Metal with some symphonic touches. The CD-R that I got in my hands contains their demo tape that was recorded back in 1998. It has brought to me together with the original tape front cover and no other piece of information except that their guitarist / bassist Guiseppe Peri plays in another Italian band called THE KRUSHERS in totally different style than IN GREMIO TENEBRARUM (thrash / hardcore etc) . So what I have understood is that this stuff will be re-released on CD-R. Well let's see what we got in here:

Four songs plus an intro and an outro in total playing time of 18:02 minutes is what this demo contains. The band has some interesting ideas in their basic riffs and melodies, they also manage to create a -some kind of- majestic atmosphere. We can hear some old school -almost thrash metal- riffs during the clear metal musical moments of their music and this may be the most interesting part of the whole think. The keyboards sound quite melodic and there are many times that they got the first place in the band's compositions. We can also hear male Black Metal vocals, male clean vocals in a more gothic mood and melodic female vocals as well. The female vocals are very well performed and melodic on other hand the male vocals need lots of improvement especially in their clean melodic parts.

In a few words I can point that here we got an extremely typical release with no surprises. A typical melodic Black Metal fan would probably enjoy their compositions -that carry lot of influences from Cradle Of Filth-.but unfortunately the band do not manage to offer something special or memorable. We got thousands of bands that sound like this and I do not think that this demo will be the next big surprise. Write to: In Gremio Tenebrarum, c/o Via Empedocle 111, 92 100 (AG), Italy, only if you are strongly in to the -Cradle Of Filth influenced- melodic / symphonic Black Metal.
