Nadja - Truth Becomes Death

(Alien8) Total time: 51:00

Ambient/drone albums make me rather unfriendly but this one, my friends, is so goddamn beautiful that I'll probably ask for forgiveness. NADJA are two people, mainman Aidan Baker (I didn't know the name but I read that the guy plays lots of instruments, has written two books, poetry etc., released tons of CDs and his second band is called ARC-which I'm gonna check real soon...) and Leah Buckareff in female vocals and bass guitar. The debut of these Canadians includes three loooong tracks that sound just like KHANATE's music would sound if it was written by dreamers and not by people who have shit for soul. The music is not so different than Justin Broadrick's JESU only noisier and creepier. Low-end experiments, feedback as key-ingredient, the flute sound that gives new dimension to the atmosphere NADJA are trying to achieve, acoustic preludes/interludes/requiems, drummachine in the background and vocals, sometimes whispering, sometimes growling that make NADJA's music so fucking special. The lyrics are amazing, I wanna copy the whole bunch but I'd better let you experience their reading yourselves. As a conclusion, I must say that that's exactly what I mean when I'm talking about atmospheric music and I believe that those who will appreciate this release the most are ULVER fans (Stefffff), since here we have too deal with an album that has the same effect on one's psychosynthesis.
