It's not often that we receive works from Israel and when this is happened I was quite exhilarated. It was DISTORTED, a death / doom metal band from this country with a lot of progressive elements. "Memorial" is their latest self financed album and they traveled to Sweden in order to record it. In this album you will find nine tracks and almost fifty minutes of pure doom / death metal. The band has dual vocals clean female ones and death metal male ones. The combination of these two types of vocals is perfectly done and beside the music it's what sets DISTORTED apart. Their compositions are really good with interesting ideas and well structured, with a very good musicianship throughout. I am pretty sure that soon the band will find a record label in order to release this album officially. If you like the stuff from Orphaned Land then you will adore the stuff from DISTORTED.
