When you see Sean Reinfert (drummer of CYNIC, DEATH, GORDIAN KNOT) and Sean Malone (bass player of CYNIC and GORDIAN KNOT) on the same band- people who have written US death metal history- you can’t help but be astonished and you also have an idea of what you are going to hear! AGHORA’s other members are Dobles and Ekendahl (guitar players) and Danistra Rivero (vocals). Nine very good compositions, with alternations of technical guitar riffs (from fusion to death metal) and melodies, redoubtable bass and drums and ethereal vocals full of lyricism and feeling. The end result sounds a bit difficult to the ear, mainly because of the different kinds of music which are in this cd, but if you listen to it carefully you can discover new things that will challenge your interest. I suggest it to every musician who wants to improve. For the rest, AGHORA is a very good start for anyone who wants to escape from the usual.
