This is a four-track demo from a band which plays Progressive Metal and come from Italy. The result of he listening can stand in two points here: one positive and one negative. The positive one is the high standard musicianship of the band which moves in an excellent level and shows musicians who have spent much time in practicing and studying their instruments, something that proves the professionalism of the band. The negative point is once again, as it is usually in the Progressive Metal bands, the songs themselves. ASTARTE SYRIACA seem to fall in the same trap like most of their genre companions and in order to show their great abilities they feel the songs with many difficult and hard performances that ruin the final result of the song. I've got tired to repeat myself every now and then but I never believed that someone has to show everything he has in music in his songs just to let me know how good he is. The real point in music is music itself, and with this I mean nice compositions, which don't have to use complicated tunes or nothing more than just good feeling and emotions. Sorry but I cannot follow this practice in music, what I always wanted was great songs and not just great musicians.
