OLD MAN GLOOM is a side project that gathers members from ISIS, CONVERGE and CAVE IN. Thus, you can imagine the musicianship and atmosphere that surrounds this release – the mysteries within! This is a great chance for each of the band members to play the music that they would never play with their own bands; to experiment a little bit more. This is where they really show off their music qualities to the maximum.
There isn’t really any point in analysing too much this release. Yes, the songs have clear indications and you can understand which tracks remind you of ISIS, or CONVERGE, or CAVE IN (it’s inevitable), but their overall sound and music is taken to another level, because here they can do stuff that they would not perform as easily as in their own bands. Here they have ground to do more - here they are truly free to perform. Thus, kudos to them, because these guys have balls and they have just proved it!
Do not be mistaken, this is RECOMMENDED and COMPULSORY listening for all music lovers, not just metal fans. BRAVO!!!
