“Hate . Malice . Revenge” is not a new release, the album came out a year ago through the Japanese label Amputated Vein. The feedback around it in the underground circles was very positive. Nuclear Blast saw the opportunity, singed the band and at last the album has the proper distribution everywhwre and I the opportunity to check out the rumors.
Okay, ALL SHALL PERISH is not something unique or groundbreaking for the death metal scene, yet they have talent and deserve the attention of the death bangers. Their main musical characteristic is the compination of brutal death (SUFFOCATION, CANNIBAL CORPSE) with the moshing parts of brutal hardcore scene (HATEBREED, BURIED ALIVE). Just imagine a more hardcore and “destroy the pit” DYING FETUS. Especially “For far too long…” is an excellent example for unstoppable moshing! But ALL SHALL PERISH don’t confine experiments only in very extreme influences. In songs like “Laid to rest” , “Sever the memory” you can listen melodic parts borrowed from the European metalcore scene (HEAVEN SHALL BURN, CALIBAN), played in a death way too. The singer spits his guts away, excellently both in the low growls as well as in the high screams, and the bassist is really impressive with his very interested bass lines. The clean, but very heavy, production helps them very much to sound as all bands like them should: Ripping and Solid! What else do you want from a newcomer who in the end sounds much better than a lot of death metal veterans? I want to believe that since ALL SHALL PERISH found a home in one of the biggest metal labels (Nuclear Blast) their future will be bright; for sure they have the abilities for that.
