V/A - Heavy Metal Maniacs pt3

Label: Private Total time: (71:57)

This is the third part of the compilation CD’s released through the Heavy Metal Maniacs Fan Club (a party of Dutch Metalheads) and once again it invites us for a ride in the Dutch Metal scene of the 80’s and not only as it features again new Metal bands from Holland. This time the CD includes: SWORD-“Excalibur” (from the “Excalibur” 7” single), SAVAGE-“Hell on Wheels” (from their 1982 demo tape), MARTYR-“Speed of Samurai” (from the “For the Universe” EP), CONQUESTADOR-“A Killer’s Confession” (from the “Unconscious Tales” demo CD), DARK WIZARD-“Mortal Agony” (from the 1985 “Reign of Evil” LP) , INFLUENCE-“Endless Desire” (“Beyond my Truth”-2001), GILGAMESJ-“Oppression” (from the “Take One” EP), CHAINSAW-“Heavy Sex Maniac” (from the “Chainsaw is the Law” 7” single), ROADKILL-“Dying World” (available only in this compilation CD), RESTLESS-“Looking out for #1” (from the “Restless II” demo tape), WOLVERINE-“Nightforce” (from the “Wolverine” mini-CD from 1989), IT LIVES-“Speed Metal Hell” (available only in this compilation CD), TOGETHER-“Burn in Hell” (from their 1983 demo tape) and two songs from the HEAVY METAL MANIACS band (“Flesh to Feed his Sin” and “Death’s Call”) with vocals from Bert Kivits (the divine singer of the Gods EMERALD).
I was unfamiliar (and got blown away) by RESTLESS (mainly) and their killer song, “Looking out for #1”, (they have released 4 demos!) and WOLVERINE. As for the new bands (CONQEASTADOR, INFLUENCE, CHAINSAW, ROADKILL and IT LIVES) I only knew CHAINSAW from their single. All of them are hopeful and the songs included in this CD are great examples. For the end, there are also two songs from the Heavy Metal Maniacs Band that are really great (especially “Flesh to feed his Sin” is a Metal classic). The band consists of members of old Dutch Metal bands.
In conclusion this compilation really kills as it includes a lot of Killer bands and rare songs.
