Oh dear, if there are two bands that I hate right now, those would be EVANESCENCE and NIGHTWISH. The first, were crap to begin with and gained commercial success on the strength of 2 or 3 whiny songs, that made me want to slit my wrists. I ‘d take fuckin BRITNEY SPEARS (What the hell is a prerogative anyway?) and AVRIL LAVINGE 24/7 rather than EVA, at least the Canadian skunk can sing. NIGHTWISH were interesting in the first 2 albums, but now the novelty has worn off and they sound just like STRATOVARIUS with female vocals. Predictable and boring. Guess what, VISION OF ATLANTIS sound like a mix of the above 2. With worse songs, swamped with keyboards, female operatic vocals (sic), campy fantasy lyrics (sic) etc etc. Somebody please lend me a pair of earmuffs. Especially when the male vocalist launches into his boy band delivery. This is KITCH, and I don’t mean it in a good way. The production is rather dump and the mix is flat. “Lost” and “Winternight” kind of have some redeeming qualities about them. But that’s it. Oh if you like EVA and NIGHTWISH, by all means go buy this and ignore the grade at the bottom. The cd includes a video of “Lost”, very similar to the EVA “Bring me back…” video. Gosh, those Krauts are ugly/fat too. Hm, they’ll appeal to the fat amphisexual gothic crowds then.
