This is not a new release but a revised re-release of PAGAN’S MIND first album. They play a Progressive-Power Metal which is not my best cup of tea, but I have to admit that they play it very well. I enjoyed every moment of the album even though I would never put a release from this Metal style in my CD player. It is a Progressive way that doesn’t get boring and also does not try to show the skills of each musician but it shows the good work of the band in the compositions. I don’t like most of the Progressive bands because many of them give you the feeling that only play music to show you how much they have studied and how much they improve every time their skills. PAGAN’S MIND are not this way. Of course their musicianship is in very high standards but they do it only when it fits to the song and not against the whole result. Highlight of the CD is the very good cover version of KING DIAMOND’S "At The Graves”, with guest musicians Glen Drover (EIDOLON, MEGADETH, Ex-KING DIAMOND) and Gus G. (MYSTIC PROPHECY, FIREWIND, Ex-DREAM EVIL). Every Progressive Power Metal fan should at least take a look at this release and I believe that they will not be disappointed.
