That’s it! TWILIGHT just recently found themselves without a contract and despite this they released “Born Undivine” a self-financed album. Judging from the quality of this release I am sure that new doors will open for them. Solid, based on classic metal influences, surrounded by enchanting folk touches (their trademark), catchy HEAVEN’S GATE style choruses, simple and to the point solos, moments that refer to BLIND GUARDIAN, flawless vocals, and a Mediterranean short-tempered personality characterize the 10 compositions that comprise this exquisite album. Add to the above the decent production and you get an idea of what this album is all about. Now, I know that the various “experts” that effortlessly put blame on the new bands that do not introduce something new but instead are based on the principles that were laid down in the late 80’s, will attack TWILIGHT considering their new album a setback. I, on the contrary, am thrilled when condemned to oblivion and forgotten bands like TYGERS OF PANG TANG or MYTHRA release new albums for a handful of impenitent romantics. Similarly, I am very excited to see new bands like TWILIGHT not to sweat in order to hide their influences (especially when these happen to be the foundations of heavy metal), but instead proudly declare them. Actually, I strongly believe that TWILIGHT, despite being Spanish, easily beat many big and commonly accepted bands of the multi-advertised German power metal scene.
Get on the TWILIGHT’s chariot fearlessly and enjoy their lyricism and emotional metallic vision, sharing with them genuine heavy metal away from clichés and usual standards. Personally, I was overwhelmed by "When Misery Leaves", which features an ACCEPT inspired main riff, the Celtic-influenced instrumental "Legend", and the rhapsodic "Land of Dreamlike Visions". Why should I spend any more ink (it seems I am still stuck in the old printed form of Invader) when things are so simple and clear? "Born Undivine" has nothing to envy from other new albums. Order it from the band’s official (http://twilight-metal.com) not neglecting to transfer Metal Invader’s greetings.
